Senior Director of Audio Engineering

Karl Malone is senior director of audio engineering for NBC Sports and Olympics and an Emmy Award-winning expert in broadcast audio design with over 30 years of experience. At NBC, he directs audio and engineering design for all Olympic Games and all NBC sporting events. Malone pioneered the NBC introduction of a new ‘immersive audio’ format (Dolby Atmos) to the U.S. live broadcast sports market.

Prior to NBC, Malone managed and directed audio for four Olympic Games with the Olympic Host Broadcaster, three FIFA World Cups, the Asian Games, and the Euro Football Championships. He started his career at Sky Broadcasting in London and Radio Teleifis Eireann in Ireland.
